Frequented Asked Questions

>Question: Do I need to be ‘Premium’ to own land at the Second Island Estate?
>Answer: Not at all. Our lands are apart from Linden Lab, therefore you don’t need to pay to anybody but Second Island. A ‘Premium’ membership is necessary only when you buy land from Linden Lab. It is surely one of our great advantages, as you will save US$ 9.95 per month.

>Question: What is ‘Tier’?
>Answer: Tier is a fee paid as maintenance of any land in Second Life. Differently than rent, this tax is charged to who owns land. All regions are hosted by servers, which charge us a tax for the service. Tier is charged from land owners to cover this tax and grant them land usage.

>Question: What is the difference of ‘Tier’ and rent?
>Answer: ‘Tier’ is charged of land owners. When a land is rented, there are no landrights included on this. A land owner has the maximum rights over his land, being able to banish people, allow the entrance, select stream, videos, terraform the land, and also he can sell the land and even get profits by this. So, the ‘Tier’ is just a tax to maintain the land. For the rent, this tax is included and added to the profit of its owner.

>Question: What is the difference from region with ‘Object Bonus’ 1.0 to regions with ‘Object Bonus’ 2.0 ?
>Answer: The ‘Object Bonus’ is a multiplier of prims allowed in a certain parcel of land. When it is defined in 1.0, for instance, a land of 512m2 supports 117 objects.
If defined in 1.5, the same 512m2 will support 175 objects. If defined in 2.0, the 512m2 will support 234 objects, the double of when it was 1.0. And so on according to the bonus multiplier.
